DESCRIPTION
The et driver supports PCI Express Ethernet adapters based on the Agere/LSI ET1310/ET1301 integrated MAC/PHY.
The following media types are supported:
autoselect Enable autoselection of the media type and options.
10baseT Set 10Mbps operation.
100baseTX Set 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet) operation.
1000baseT Set 1000Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) operation (ET1310 only).

The et device driver first appeared in OpenBSD 4.3. It was added to NetBSD 6.0.

to NetBSD by Kaspar Brand.

DESCRIPTION
The ale driver provides support for Ethernet interfaces based on the Atheros AR8121/AR8113/AR8114 Ethernet chipset, also known as the Attan-
sic L1E.
The ale driver supports IPv4 receive IP/TCP/UDP checksum offload and VLAN tag insertion and stripping.
The following media types are supported:
autoselect Enable autoselection of the media type and options.
10baseT Set 10Mbps operation.
100baseTX Set 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet) operation.
1000baseT Set 1000Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) operation.
For more information on configuring this device, see ifconfig(8). To view a list of media types and options supported by the card, try
ifconfig <device> media. For example, ifconfig ale0 media.

The ale device driver first appeared in OpenBSD 4.5. It was then ported to NetBSD 5.1.

This feels really silly, but i just dont get it..
I just installed openbsd on one of my machines, usually
i dont have this problem, but now, when i try to use ifconfig
to give myself an ipadress, i get this errormsg:

Can't setup OpenBSD 3.4 with Maxtor Diamond Plus 9 80Gb ATA/133 HDD... Install process stops at hardware initialize, before installing... :confused:
