The server is working
, the problem was with the path_to_inst file. I booted the machine in single user mode using the solaris cd 1 of 2.
ok boot cdrom -s
Later the machine booted in single user mode.
# mount /tmp/devices/pci@1f,0/pci@1/scsi@8/sd@0,0:a /tmp/a
# cp /tmp/a/etc/path_to_inst.old /tmp/a/etc/path_to_inst
# reboot
Yeppy, that's it done.
Later after the machine booted, i commented the lines started with "forceload" pertaining to my scenario in the /etc/system file.
Rebooted it again.

Well I have just added new tape drive to my server (lto)
However I am getting few errors in using it. I have checked status with
#iostat -En : giving me few hard errors, few soft errors and execution error.
Also tape status is not visible as "no sense" its coming as "no additional sense".

i installed a unix tape drive on my alphaserver. when i use a mt command it tells me there is no tape or device.
I have used the hardware manager and it shows the tape is present.

install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation,
install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer.
