Hi,

Have a look at the RMAN tool that comes with Oracle databases. Information about archived logs is stored in the databases control files and if you move archivelogs with os-tools this information will not be updated.
RMAN backs those archivlogs up,deletes them and updates your controlfiles.

gvfs-move moves a file from one URI location to another, using the virtual file system. OPERANDS
