Question How To...KDE on Solaris 8

I have my shinny new SunFire 280 server with a fresh copy of Solaris 8 installed. I installed the options CD which includes KDE. I can't seem to get it to work. (This is what happens when management gives a Unix box to an x86 Network Admin and says "Figure it out" ) I have played with Mandrake and Red Hat and feel like I would be more effective in navigating around this box under KDE rather than CDE.

I have searched the Internet for hours today looking for a HowTo but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

My complete task is to setup an Apache webserver and port the HTML code from our x86 box over to it. This could get ugly Smilie

Assuming dtlogin is still running, when you are first logging in, look to see if kde is in the option list (before you type in a user name). Pick it and then type in your user ID. If this works, then it may keep it as the default but I'm not sure (never used it).

CDE isn't that bad to learn. It's just point and click like any other windowing system.

As far as putting Apache on - it comes with Solaris 8. You just have to configure it for your application.
