Yes, I once had to install the same patches to get DNS to work on SUN OS. It was a real nightmare, and was the same NIS problem. I recall the entire nightmare after reading your post (thanks a lot!)

However, there was something in your posts that indicated that DNS was working (based on nslookups you did). Hence, there is still some mystery in the thread Smilie Smilie
