Hi
I recently installed Mandrake 9 on my laptop. It has 2 PCMCIA slots, and in one of them I usually keep one of my network cards (ones an Accton 2216, the other a Surecom EP-427). Under mandrake when my computer started up (and went into runlevel 5) it attempted to start 'network' and then 'pcmcia'. Shortly after my keyboard and mouse went dead and I am forced to restart.
I am now running Red Hat 7.1 on the same computer. It boots just fine, because there is no PCMCIA service on startup. This is strange because before init starts (as its detecting hardware) I've seen it pick up the cards just fine. When X windows starts and I turn eth0 on, however, it doesn't seem to be able to communicate with the cards, saying "Startup delayed" (or something like that).
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do so that I can use the cards? I would really appreciate it.
