Execution of KSH after the Other ENDS

I have couple of scripts which I may have to execute one after the other. The Script1 creates trg files and second sciprt need to look for this trg file and proces further. I read in the forum that (./test1.sh && ./test2.sh) would work. Can you please let me know how do i use this where I need to automate this script using today's data as parameter passed to the script -YYYYMMDD format.

Is this what you mean?
Code:
./test1.sh `date +%Y%m%d` && ./test2.sh `date +%Y%m%d`

Thanks

Yes, Something Similar.. I shall check this out and see if this works as expected. To add to this, I have one more script which I may have to run after 50 min of execution of the second script. How is it possible for me to achieve this?
Please help..

The construction "&&" is used for immediate execution after the first process ends. In fact it is a logical "AND", which connects the two processes and the second one is executed if the first ends with return code "0" (zero).

Ending with return code "0" is commonly the sign of "normal end of operation", whereas everything abnormal should produce an exit code different to "0".

This seems to be the correct implementation for you, because the first process creates files which the second one uses. Perhaps, if the first aborts somehow abnormally the file won't be there and the second one should not start in this case.

For your second problem, to wait some time, there is the "sleep" command: it takes a number of seconds as parameter and waits for this time.

Code:
command1
sleep 3000         # 60 secs * 50
command2

should do the trick.

I hope this helps.
