JMIDE(4) BSD Kernel Interfaces Manual JMIDE(4)NAME
jmide -- JMicron Technology JMB36x PCIe to SATA II/PATA controller driver
SYNOPSIS
jmide* at pci? dev ? function ? flags 0x0000
ahcisata* at jmide?
DESCRIPTION
The jmide driver supports the JMicron Technology JMB36x IDE controllers.
These PCI-e controllers exist in different flavors (1 or 2 PATA Ultra/133 ports and/or 1 or 2 SATA-II ports), and are highly flexible. The
SATA ports can be attached to the integrated AHCI controller or attached to the PCI IDE channels in PATA emulation, in either single-drive
emulation on each PCI IDE channels, or in master/slave emulation on one of the PCI IDE channels.
When enabled, the AHCI controller can either be on the PCI function 0 or function 2. The PCI IDE controller can also be on either PCI func-
tion, and can share the PCI function with AHCI. The jmide driver supports both the AHCI controller and PCI IDE controller in various config-
urations.

Hello everybody,
I need to connect a laptop 2.5 SATA hard drive to a Desktop board (which uses 3.5' SATA hard drives). I've tried the connectors and they fit excellent in the 2.5 SATA connectors.
The problem is that the laptop hard drive uses 5v and the PC's power source sends 12v. So, my... (4 Replies)

I have an upgrade path in mind for a new computer that will be stocked with a 2TB SATA 300 hard disk. This is a choice based on information that SATA 300 is not necessarily faster than SATA 600. The upgrade path in a year time or so would then involve the purchase of an SSD that would contain the... (4 Replies)
I am planning on purchasing an OCZ SSD that runs on the PCI Express lane. Now, while the motherboard it is to be installed on is not listed in the compatibility table, this does not mean it will not work, because the table only lists the motherboards that have been tested.
Still, is there a way... (4 Replies)

Hi,
I went to a computer store and the salesman sold me a SATA cable and told me that all SATA cables are the same. Another salesman at a different store told me a cable rated for SATA 2, which I bought, MIGHT work as well as one rate for SATA 3 but it is not guaranteed. I decided to run a... (3 Replies)
