You need to bind your ethernet card to your IP drivers using the <b>ifconfig</b> command. You need to tell the kernel how to route packets using the <b>route</b> command. You need a good book on TCP/IP networking. Last year, one was recommended and we have put all last years recommendations in one place:
The book you want is the one with the crab on the front. This is the best TCP/IP networking book and the one most recommended to beginners.

Need help connecting to the internet with solaris10

I am using solaris 10 with pentium 3. I have two network cards but none of them come up when i run <ifconfig -a> in command line. The two cards I have are : Linksys LNE 100TX and Netgear FA311. Hi, I can ping www.yahoo.com (then domain name server is OK) but I can not navigate by Motzila to www.yahoo.com or any other Web Site. What can be the problem ? SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

     The url driver provides support for USB Ethernet adapters based on the Realtek RTL8150L USB-ether bridge chip.

     The url driver supports the following adapters:

	   CompUSA USBKR100
	   GreenHouse GH-USB100B
	   Melco Inc. LUA-KTX
	   Sitecom LN013

     For more information on configuring this device, see ifconfig(8).

DIAGNOSTICS

     url%d: watchdog timeout  A packet was queued for transmission and a transmit command was issued, however the device failed to acknowledge the
     transmission before a timeout expired.

     url%d: no memory for rx list  The driver failed to allocate an mbuf for the receiver ring.
