On that version of SCO you have to set up the modem manually.
You should use an external modem for best results.
Files to configure:
/etc/inittab
/etc/gettydefs
/usr/lib/uucp/Systems
/usr/lib/uucp/Devices

Ok. I tried following the directions from some of the other threads, but I've hit a road block.
I have red hat 7.3 and I installed the hcf package:

uusched is the uucp(1C) file transport scheduler. It is usually started by the daemon uudemon.hour that is started by cron(1M) from an
