Withouth being physically at the server, is there a way to tell if the network cable is unplugged?

Hi, i have installed solaris on virtual box in my desktop, i wanted to know how to make it network enabled(nated network). This utility is used to manage network services (client/server). All servers will be automatically unregistered when the application terminates. OPTIONS
