Recently I came to know my / root file system is getting full because of application directory /siebel/
I have one option.
1) Down the application , take full backup
2)change the filesystem ownership
2)copy the contents into that filesystem
3)Inform app team to test and set their path.
4) Post success remove /siebel directory under /
But i want to mount that(siebel/)directory as a filesystem to an existing filesystem(siebelfs) , Becoz to avoid moving data. Is it possible???
Thank,
Thala

Hi All,
I am new to AIX. I am having problems mounting a filesystem after a system reboot.
Steps:
1. Create and Map LUN to host
2. On the host, to detect/configure the LUN: /usr/sbin/cfgmgr
3. Create a filesystem: mkfs -V vxfs /dev/hdisk757
4. Create a mountpoint: mkdir -p... (3 Replies)
Hello,
In a shared storage environment is their anything to stop being able to mount the same filesystem on two hosts by accident, a flag being set or something on the storage?
If it did happen would one of the hosts panic? (2 Replies)
Hi techies,

I had the following... (4 Replies)

After rebooting, the filesystem gets mounted with the option "nosetuid". I believe the default should be "suid"

quotaon
QUOTAON(8) System Manager's Manual QUOTAON(8)NAME
quotaon, quotaoff - turn filesystem quotas on and off
SYNOPSIS
quotaon [-v] filesystem ...
quotaon [-v] -a
quotaoff [-v] filesystem ...
quotaoff [-v] -a
DESCRIPTION
Quotaon announces to the system that disk quotas should be enabled on one or more filesystems. Quotaoff announces to the system that the
specified filesystems should have any disk quotas diskquotas turned off. The filesystems specified must have entries in /etc/fstab and be
mounted. Quotaon expects each filesystem to have a quota file named quotas located at the root of the associated file system. These
defaults may be overridden in /etc/fstab.
Available options:
-a If the -a flag is supplied in place of any filesystem names, quotaon/quotaoff will enable/disable all the filesystems indi-
cated in /etc/fstab to be read-write with disk quotas.
-v Causes quotaon and quotaoff to print a message for each filesystem where quotas are turned on or off.
FILES
quotas at the filesystem root with user quotas
/etc/fstab filesystem table
