I can't tell why sed -i is not working. Maybe write it to a tmp file and mv it back to the original or use perl -i or have something like:

Code:
printf 'sed "$\nr infile2\ns/</< /\nw! infile2\n1d\nq!'| ex -

SED: Print range, exclude regular expressions.

Ok, so I get that: sed -n '/START/,/END/p' file ...will print every line from START to END inclusive, but I don't want to see START or END. Apart from the obious: sed -n '/START/,/END/p' file | grep -v "START" | grep -v "END" ...is there a simpler way of doing this? Thanks as always! (2 Replies)

NAME
rubibtex - make a bibliography for (La)TeX using Russian letters as item names SYNOPSIS
rubibtex BASENAME DESCRIPTION
rubibtex is used to run bibtex(1) on auxiliary files with Russian characters in item names (citation keys). It is part of the T2 package. rubibtex copies the auxiliary file to /tmp, uses sed(1) to convert Cyrillic character commands to their 8-bit ASCII equivalents; runs bib- tex(1) on the modified file; and finally moves the original auxiliary file back (overwriting the modified file). rubibtex assumes that the bibtex(1) database (bib) files are encoded with the KOI8-R encoding.
