Hi
If your laptop has a DB9 serial port you just need a serial cable similar to those ones used to admin Cisco devices and a Hyperterminal connection.
If your laptop has USB ports you can use one of those USB-to-DB9 converters to connect to the serial port of the pSeries server. They usually comes with a driver so Windows creates a new serial port and using Hyperterminal you cna connect.

Hello All,
So I have been running into an issue with a USB Modem where if someone ends their dialin connection abruptly from the other side the modem gets stuck
and I found that the only way to fix it is to either unplug the USB Modem and plug it back in, or just reboot. I'd rather not reboot... (5 Replies)

unixware 7.1.3 I'm afraid ! I connected a usb tape drive and it was automatically recognised in the device list (sdiconfig -l) and created devices in /dev/rmt (ctape1 etc.). I could successfully read and write to the device.
