Graphics install on Linux

I'm trying to get RedHat 7.0 working on a Dell Latitude c600/c610 working. Well the graphics driver anyway.

See no matter what I configure it wont work. Run Xconfigurator and it wont have the right drivers installed for me to pick etc etc. So I'll run Xconfigurator get a generic driver, select the resolution and then it'll accept it. Ok that's fine with me I don't care what drivers it picks.

The problems I am having though is with the Resolution. No matter what I can think of doing it wont get the 1024x768 resolution. Configure the /etc/X11/**All confige files** and nothing. Still stuck at some huge ass resolution where I can see about a 1/4 of the normal screen I should be able to.

Been to websites to see what other people have done. Followed what they have done and well still no luck for me at all Smilie

Please I need some help.

Yes I know just upgrade the O/S but I can't due to the software that I need to run, it's custom software the company uses and in the later versions of RH they changed some settings and I don't have time to see what that is and fix it the software.

Thanks in advance for those who can help.

The firmware for the adapter is not shipped with NetBSD and must be obtained separately. An archive with firmware files that are known to work can be found at: http://leaf.dragonflybsd.org/~sephe/bwi/v3.tbz The firmware files conventionally reside in /libdata/firmware/bwi and will be loaded when the interface is brought up. Note: the v3 subdi- rectory in the above firmware archive should exist in the firmware folder. The full list of paths checked for firmware can be found in the hw.firmware.path sysctl(3) node.
