A 3com 3c59x card /should/ have been detected during install by Redhat 7. Are you certain the card is functional? If you've modified your kernel in anyway, make sure you have the vortex/boomerang driver installed, as Neo said. Here's a detailed link to all things Linux and 3com NICs Smilie

The Octane is driving me nuts . It was sitting on the network doing its job nicely and i had to pull the n/w cable out from the wall to pull it from the inside of the table and connected it again . How to remove a file with a leading dash '-' in it's name?

Somehow someone created a file named '-ov' in the root directory. Given the name, the how was probably the result of some cpio command they bozo'ed.      url -- Realtek RTL8150L USB Ethernet driver

SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION

     The url driver provides support for USB Ethernet adapters based on the Realtek RTL8150L USB-ether bridge chip.

     The url driver supports the following adapters:

	   CompUSA USBKR100
	   GreenHouse GH-USB100B
	   Melco Inc. LUA-KTX
	   Sitecom LN013

     For more information on configuring this device, see ifconfig(8).

DIAGNOSTICS

     url%d: watchdog timeout  A packet was queued for transmission and a transmit command was issued, however the device failed to acknowledge the
