UNIX for Dummies Questions & Answers

I am using exceed and was wondering if their is anyway to quickly cut and paste the X-window (i.e. all std output) into windows. Do not want file to be created just want to copy and paste but obviously ^C does not work?

To cut & paste lines within x-windows.....here is the answer.

To copy:
Just block the lines which you wish to copy using the mouse (left-click & drag)

To paste:
If in "vi" insert mode, press [Shift][Insert].

To cut & paste lines from x-windows to notepad/word or anywhere else,

To copy:
Block the lines as mentioned above.
Right-click the x-window's title bar, select Edit->CopyXSelection->To clipboard

To paste:
[Ctrl] v
