/usr/lib/32/32-> Question

Hello UNIX people. I was just cruising around my UFS and came across the directory /usr/lib/32. This directory continues up many directories (/usr/lib/32/32/32/32->). Each level of 32/ directory seems to be a copy of the previous one. I have been working with UNIX for a little while now, but I am not an expert on the directory structures. Can someone tell me if this is normal and if so maybe a brief description of why this occurs. It never hurts to ask.

No, this is not 'normal', you have a problem (error) with symbolic links, more than likely.

Oddly enough, I found this: http://lists.linuxemporium.co.uk/pip...ch/001573.html
So at least you're not the only one....

I have now checked two other boxes running Solaris 7 and it is the same in these other cases. In fact one of the boxes seemed to continue infinantly '/usr/lib/32/32/32->' where as I actually reached the end of this structure on my box. Do all these boxes have symbolic link problems. Can someone else have a look see on their box to check against this finding. Thanks in advance!
