importing database from unix to winnt

i am a unix-super-beginner (swaddled and weaned on windows) and am trying to import a database from a unix directory into winnt. can someone help me or am i a hopeless case?

That's one option. However, I'm not even sure that the above program will do what you want.

the database is originally in a really old ingres database program (called ingres ingmenu?), and i am trying to get to it in microsoft access 2000

Are you able to export to a flat text file? (CSV, TDT, etc...) If so, try exporting out of ingres, then try to import the file into Access.

If this is a large database, this may not be an option - but then again, neither would Access! Haha... Thank you folks, I'll be here all night. Be sure to tip your waitres....
