(is there a better forum for this question?)
Has anyone been successful at dual booting redhat linux 6.0 and win 2000 pro? I never had a problem dual booting linux with win98 and my first few tries with win2k were unsuccessful. I am going to try again but would like to get some other people's input. I figure I have to clean off my whole hard drive, then
(oh and also I will have nt4wks on it just for fun)
install linux using lilo.
install nt as fat
install nt sp 4 so that it will be compat with win2k
install win2k as fat
change nt and 2k filesystems to ntfs.
I have Partition Commander for win98 and it will work with what I am doing if I need it but only if a keep a formatted fat32 partition.
I also have partition magic for win2k but that always does some really outrageously bad things and I end up not usingit. I would like to use the boot loader that comes with part-com because it just looks nicer than lilo when I do it. Anything anyone wants to point out to me before I go ahead? By the way I have several seperate fat and fat32 partitions where I keep my own files and projects. I think probably I should back these up anyway since I will be dealing with a linux partition. (um - backing up here, I already have a linux partition made. I am thinking that if I reformat my nt and 2k partitions so the OSs are not there and keep all of my other partitions intact, I may be able to install linux with lilo from there instead of wiping out the entire drive first.)
