UNIX for Advanced & Expert Users

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone out there knows how I can make my UNIX server (Using Solaris8) boot up to a prompt without needing me to login.
I simply want to turn on my UNIX box and get to a prompt without needing to input login and password.

this MIGHT vary depending on what getty program you use, i use agetty. agetty has an -n option to not ask for a user login. so i suppose that you can edit your /etc/inittab file and append an '-n' to each getty line and see what happens. as always, just to makethings easy make sure you make a back up of inittab, something like, inittab.old. the one thing that will make things hard is that you need getty to login to your system, so if you do mess things up, you will have to boot from a rescue disk, mount the / partition and edit inittab to be back to normal from there. find out which getty you use by running ps a
then see the man pages for which ever one you use and make sure the -n does what you think its gonna do. good luck.
