Fujitsu M10-4 vs SPARC T5-2

Certainly these servers have quite a few differences, not the least of which include CPU architecture and OEM. But, I'm wondering which would offer the greater reliability and availability. Thoughts?

We run quite a lot of T and M servers here. While we have absolutely no trouble with the M servers, the T servers are hit with hardware issues fairly often. We have replaced quite a lot of motherboards and CPUs, and we even have a few instances where the replacement parts are DOA.

Given the choice we would pick the M10 over the T5 any day. The performance may be similar with a slight edge toward the T5, but we are far more confident with Fujitsu regarding reliability.

I've got a fairly small setup but I've seen the same thing already. The M series seems to be considerably more reliable. But, I would like to get some first hand experience from some t5 owners. That is, if any care to share their experiences.

I can say for t4-4, running 6 months, no issues so far.
As for t5-2, my company will buy some very soon.. so i can get back to you in about 6 months or so Smilie
