[:too many argments (while loop)
hi all this is my first post and I have found very similiar topics but using the help I found has still not solved my problem so this is my code. I am trying to get a grips with while loops and want to print from 1 to 100. I am getting the error

line 2: [:too many arguments

Code:
num=1
increment=1
while [ $num -le 100 ]
do
echo $num
num='expr $num + $increment'
done

# 2

Correct your code like this

Code:
num=1
increment=1
while [ $num -le 100 ]
do
echo $num
num=$((num+1))  # OR ((num++))
done

For old Unix shells you need the expr stuff, but in back-ticks!

Null Handling in Until loop. . .loop won't stop

Hi Im running this script, which is supposed to find the max value build some tables and then stop running once all the tables are built.
