Help on awk script

Hi!
I have written an awk script that filters an input file (trace.ns) and returns me only the lines that satisfy my conditions.
The script is

Code:
awk ' NR==FNR {
    Xmin=680011;Xmax=681011;
    Ymin=249009;Ymax=250009;
    Tmin=22000;Tmax=23200;
    if ( ($1 == "$ns_") ) {
        found=0;
        if ( ($6 >= Xmin) && ($6 <= Xmax) && ($7 >= Ymin) && ($7 <= Ymax) && ($3 >= Tmin) && ($3 <= Tmax) ) {
            nodeId=substr($4,index($4,"(")+1,index($4,")")-index($4,"(")-1);
            if ( vect[nodeId] == nodeId ) #already stored nodeId
               found=1;
            if(found == 0){
                vect[nodeId]=nodeId;
            }
        }
    }
next} {
    if ( ($2 == "set") ) {
        nodeId=substr($1,index($1,"(")+1,index($1,")")-index($1,"(")-1);
        nodeId=nodeId+0;
        if ( vect[nodeId] == nodeId ){
            print $0;
        }
    }
    else if ( ($1 == "$ns_") ) {
        nodeId=substr($4,index($4,"(")+1,index($4,")")-index($4,"(")-1);
        nodeId=nodeId+0;
        if ( vect[nodeId] == nodeId ){
            print $0;
        }
    }

}' trace.ns trace.ns

(sorry, my code is very poor since I am new to awk..)

An example of output I get is
Code:
$node_(0) set X_ 0.000000
$node_(0) set Y_ 0.000000
$node_(0) set Z_ 0.0
$node_(18) set X_ 0.000000
$node_(18) set Y_ 0.000000
$node_(18) set Z_ 0.0
$node_(40) set X_ 0.000000
$node_(40) set Y_ 0.000000
$node_(40) set Z_ 0.0
$ns_ at 18277.790935 "$node_(0) setdest 687194.097161 162946.963878 1000000000.000000"
$ns_ at 18281.520006 "$node_(18) setdest 580798.719208 200751.669579 1000000000.000000"
$ns_ at 18300.052296 "$node_(18) setdest 581278.000000 201079.000000 26.444329"
$ns_ at 18308.990000 "$node_(40) setdest 596840.000000 236430.000000 1000000000.000000"
$ns_ at 18309.000000 "$node_(40) setdest 597021.812087 236462.084486 15.279089"
$ns_ at 18321.083271 "$node_(40) setdest 597350.000000 236520.000000 12.381108"
$ns_ at 18323.000000 "$node_(18) setdest 582061.559021 201202.879258 27.569806"

in practice those string $node_(N) are IDs of nodes in a network. The nodes should be numbered incrementally, but in my script, since I filter lines related to nodes that I don't need, I have sparse numbers instead of sequential IDs. I'd like to re-number the nodes and obtain as correct output

Code:
$node_(0) set X_ 0.000000
$node_(0) set Y_ 0.000000
$node_(0) set Z_ 0.0
$node_(1) set X_ 0.000000
$node_(1) set Y_ 0.000000
$node_(1) set Z_ 0.0
$node_(2) set X_ 0.000000
$node_(2) set Y_ 0.000000
$node_(2) set Z_ 0.0
$ns_ at 18277.790935 "$node_(0) setdest 687194.097161 162946.963878 1000000000.000000"
$ns_ at 18281.520006 "$node_(1) setdest 580798.719208 200751.669579 1000000000.000000"
$ns_ at 18300.052296 "$node_(1) setdest 581278.000000 201079.000000 26.444329"
$ns_ at 18308.990000 "$node_(2) setdest 596840.000000 236430.000000 1000000000.000000"
$ns_ at 18309.000000 "$node_(2) setdest 597021.812087 236462.084486 15.279089"
$ns_ at 18321.083271 "$node_(2) setdest 597350.000000 236520.000000 12.381108"
$ns_ at 18323.000000 "$node_(1) setdest 582061.559021 201202.879258 27.569806"

I have problems in associating new incremental nodeIDs to the nodes I have stored in my array vect[].
Any suggestion? Thank you a lot!!
