how to add a line to the file

Hi
I need to update a multiple files containing the following unique line:
"echo No /t2/bin/tsdbdwn2 is here, skipping"

The problem is that this line is a part of the "if" statement and the update needs to be entered right after the "fi" which follow immediatly after the inique line.

Here is the example of the file

Here is an extract of the file to be updated:
mktemp tsupdmon
send tsupdmon exit
tssrmon dbdwn
if [ -f /t2/bin/tsdbdwn2 ]
then
tsdbdwn2 y
else
echo No /t2/bin/tsdbdwn2 is here, skipping
fi
/ts/bin/stop_tsdrsvc
.........

The desired line should be added right after the "fi"....

I cannot use "fi" as a reference since there are multiple "if"s in the file.
I would appreciate any help or advice...

Can you put the code of the file before and after you run the script? I think its you help to know exactly the problem and maybe i could help you.
Sorry, the problem is that i am not so good in English and i am confused about the problem... its just to put after the last line?

May be you need something like

$ sed '/^echo No \/t2\/bin\/tsdbdwn2 is here, skipping$/{n; a\
Your new string after fi
}' your_file

Search your uniq line, then go to next line (which is `fi') and add your string.

if the line is a part of "if" then why would you put that after "fi"?. you should write that inside the "if" block.

secondly, "update a multiple files" is not clear.
you have lots of files ( scripts) and want to add this line in all the scripts?

Code:
sed '/echo No \/t2\/bin\/tsdbdwn2 is here, skipping/{n;a \
appending this line
}' file> tmp ; mv tmp file
