Script to get the latest ziped file and extract the files from it
We have zipped files on windows ftp server and need shell script to get the LATEST Date zipped file from the windows ftp server and extract the files from that zipped file into the unix server folder. any help will be appericiated.

Hi gurpartap,
I think you'll have to do that in two steps.

1) List the files in the ftp server:

echo -e "open ftp.server.address\nuser username password\nls" | ftp -n

As every server has its own way of displaying files (sort order, language, etc...), you'll have to find a way to extract the name of newest zip file. You might post the output of this command so we can help you do that.

2) Download the file and unzip it.
Code:
echo -e "open ftp.server.address\nuser username password\nget newest.zip" | ftp -n
unzip newest.zip
