what are the files I need to modify regarding the hostname ,IP addresses
default gateway and static routes.

if you want to change all of these i would recommend you to use the command "sys-unconfig", see the man page for more details...

hostname:
/etc/nodename
/etc/inet/hosts
/etc/inet/ipnodes << solaris 10
/etc/net/ticlts/hosts
/etc/net/ticots/hosts
/etc/net/ticotsord/hosts

network-config:
/etc/hostname.<interface>
/etc/defaultrouter
/etc/netmasks
/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/nsswitch.conf

should be all....

I agree sys-unconfig would be preferable.

on solaris 10 you don´t need to modify the /etc/net/tic*/hosts files, they exist but aren´t used.
