Oracle clinical on unix

I am using Unix HP UX 11.3 Version. I need to install oracle clinical application version 4.6 on unix.

Do i need and X server to install the application on unix.

Please guide me , As i am very much new in unix.

Appreciate Help!!

Hi,

you may find someone who actually installed that software and give you tips in the Unix-Linux-Applications forum.
Anyway, Oracle installer needs a graphical display nowadays as stated in the Oracle Clinical Installation Guide.

motif

there is an application called oracle clinical verison 4.6 which needs to be installed on unix server. verison hp ux 11.3.

my uery is can i use motif - x server to get the GUI mode. to install the application ?

What happens when you try to install it?

You don't need to install actual X server on HPUX.

All you need is a client computer with X server installed (either Linux, cygwin's X, xming or alike)
Then you can..
ssh -Y user@host - no need to export DISPLAY, just run the GUI installer (encapsulation)
ssh on the machine, run export DISPLAY=<client ip running X>:0.0;

That's way you will get motif or java GUI runin.
Regarding the instalation of specific apps, please refer to apps documentation.
