HACMP 4.3 Question

A quick question on HACMP 4.3

We have two old F80 systems running HACMP 4.3 currently there is Box (A) running one side of a warehouse and (B) running another side. They both have the ability to failover to eachother. Currently Box A and B are running on Box A. In between is a Hitach Disk array.

What is the best practice for me to move load on Box B back over to its respectable space.

FYI: This is what i have..

Login to A system and do smit hacmp
àcluster system Managementà Cluster resource group Managementà Move a resource group to another node. Select resource group to be moved. B to Node B. Open new window and monitor hacmp.out

Let me know if im missing anything

No, what you find is fine. I guess you are aware that your HACMP version and sowith your AIX version, as well maybe the hardware is very outdated and not supported anymore.

I can only reinforce what zaxxon said: your software is way out of support. Even its successor HACMP 5.x is out of support already.

One detail regarding your problem: as long as the cluster is functional you can initiate a RG-takeover on any cluster-node, it doesn't have to be any specific one. One part of the cluster software takes care of holding cluster-relevant configuration information consistent (which is why you should always use the C-SPOC utilities, not the normal, non-HACMP-aware utilities, to do things) and where a RG is located is such information.

I hope this helps.
