In a Unix (ksh) script, is there a way to determine the current working directory path of another logged-in user? Of course, I can use "pwd" to find my own path. But, how do I find it for another active user?

How do I define a particular dir in front of PATH variable and then run some job and then at the end of job SET the PATH variable to original?
in a script, WILL something like this work:

only difference is the dir I need to cd to has a space in it like this

i am on linux,
and im trying to figure out why my cp command cant copy one file.
I am trying to use variable in which i stored path to location where is file i wish to copy.
$ echo $ORA_ALERT_LOG
/u01/app/oracle/diag/rdbms/ring11/ring11/trace
$
$
$ pwd
/home/oracle

I would like to output a listing per line of filename (including full path) and 'last updated' timestamp. e.g:

Well since Windows always laments over some of my files having a too long "path+filename" and it gets in the way of copying complete directory structures I would love to have a DOS Script that helps me with finding those.

In Linux, I had modified fstab file which used to mount ~/Music, ~/Pictures, etc with disk partitions containing corresponding content or binding directory located at other partition. But I am wondering can I do same in El-Capitan as well? No linking!

xdg-user-dir - Get the path used for desktop user directory location.
SYNOPSIS
xdg-user-dir DIR
DESCRIPTION
xdg-user-dir is a utility that extracts the location of the specified desktop user directory from the file :
${HOME}/.config/user-dirs.dirs
OPERANDS
Valid desktop directories (DIR) are:
DESKTOP
DOWNLOAD
TEMPLATES
PUBLICSHARE
DOCUMENTS
MUSIC
PICTURES
VIDEOS
If an invalid directory is requested ${HOME} is returned.
ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES
See environ(5) for descriptions of the following environment variables:
HOME.
Other environment variable that are used are:
XDG_CONFIG_HOME
Base directory for storge of XDG configuration files. Defaults to ${HOME}/.config
FILES
The following files are used by this application:
/usr/bin/xdg-user-dir
XDG Directory expansion utility.
${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/user-dirs.dirs
Location of the user-specific configuration including the current list of directories and what they map to.
