Hi Blowtorch,
I tried many combinations with sort (with & without) but didn't work.
Anyway thanks a lot for your input.
JustIce,
Thanks! your version works. Admit that my one is bit complicated - because I wanted to write without having intermidiatory files.
But the issue is that my script is just running fine in few other servers.
Its running fine in a box ( Box A) which is exactly same as the problematic one (Box B). OS version is same too.
So I tried running the script in "Box A" using the output of Box B (i.e. tf.txt).
Again the same problem.
(ps -ef output of Box A is not same as that of Box B)
So, I concluded that its a problem with the output (of ps -ef).
Which means my version of the script couldn't handle a certain combination of lines.
But its bit awkward to accept that.
Thanks again all for your time!
