Besides VI is a good (in text mode) program:
Midnight Commander, generally have names: MC.
U can write ' mcedit ' and U have a good editor for small and big files, but also is a very good editor.

a BIG problem

dear experts ...help :eek: I'm running FC2 and i was installing fluxbox but it wouldnt work so i uninstalled it by using rpm -e but because i installed fluxbox-styles it was dependent on fluxbox-0.10 so i used rpm -e --nodeps that was all fine and im not sure that was the cause of the error, but... SED - editing file names (End of line problem?)

For lists in sed, to say what to replace, is this correct: I am hoping that this would recognise that either a "." is present, or that the substitution happens at the end of the line. big problem with rm command, please help me!!

Hi every body, well, i made quite a big mistake... In a script, I created a directory called "$PWD" ( it was unwanted...). nothing very frightening with that. mcview is a link to mc, the main GNU Midnight Commander executable. Executing GNU Midnight Commander under this name requests staring the internal viewer and opening the file specified on the command line. OPTIONS
-b Force black and white display. -c Force color mode on terminals where mcview defaults to black and white. -C <keyword>=<FGcolor>,<BGcolor>:<keyword>= ... Specify a different color set. See the Colors section in mc(1) for more information. -d Disable mouse support. -f Display the compiled-in search paths for Midnight Commander files. -t Used only if the code was compiled with S-Lang and terminfo: it makes the Midnight Commander use the value of the TERMCAP variable for the terminal information instead of the information on the system wide terminal database -V Displays the version of the program. -x Forces xterm mode.
