Post your OS and version although I doubt that will matter as I have never seen paging software come with an OS (but I could be wrong!).

As far as paging, if the pager has an email address such as
9995555443@skytel.com, then you can simply build a script to use mailx (or your favorite mail interface) and send the pager a message. Or even from the command prompt.

% mailx -s"Pager msg" xxxxxxxxxxxx@mypager.com < /tmp/newmsg.txt

You can build a script to prompt for the information such as Subject, who you are paging, message. This can also be done to be added to a web page.

LV without Paging Space

Hello dear friends, We have VG filevg which consists of 2 PVs when I rechecked the VG there is no Pagingspace LV.. The VG is usually Highly loaded because much reads and writes.. Is this a must to create Paging space on the specified LV? (2 Replies)

Hi , I have 8Gb memory in my JS21 server. When I run svmon it shows 3655Mb memory is utilized and 4344Mb free. I have configured 8Gb paging space and 14% is utilized which is 1Gb. I dont have memory issues but just want to know Why 1gb paging is utilized when my almost 4Gb real memory is free?... (6 Replies)

script-email - Amanda script to send email notifications DESCRIPTION
script-email is an Amanda script implementing the Script API. It should not be run by users directly. It sends a notification email to the addresses specified in the MAILTO property. PROPERTIES
This section lists the properties that control script-email's functionality. See amanda-scripts(7) for information on the Script API, script configuration. MAILTO List of email addresses that will receive an email on command execution. In this example, script-email is scheduled to be run before the DLE, on the server. The unqualified email address amanda will be passed to the email system unchanged.
