log files for startup for AIX is /etc/rc.log.old

how about for hpux and solaris?

Hi, I am trying to start services on system reboot on AIX. Have put the S* links under rd2.d & K* links under other rc*.d At the moment, all scripts are getting called. However, the services aren't coming up. Where can i find the logs for these to check what failed. (8 Replies)

Where is the shutdown/startup log?

Having difficulty trying to locate startup and shutdown messages. I had a bunch of servers shutdown over the weekend (due to a scheduled power outage) and upon reboot a lot of the filesystems weren't mounted and several processes weren't started... hi everyone... we have to run any python file e.g. show.py at startup..i.e. when OS starts it runs automatically. we are proceeding this way, writing a startup script named forfyp2 ,pasting it in init.d , making it exe using chmod , creating startup links using update-rc.d forfyp2 defaults.... bf-animation-editor -- The animation editor for the Bear Engine. SYNOPSIS
bf-animation-editor [-h] [--log-concise] [--log-file=file] [--log-level=string] [--log-uniq] [-c] [-u] file(s) ... DESCRIPTION
This program is the animation editor for the Bear Engine. This is a part of the Bear Factory. OPTIONS
The following options can be passed to the program: -c, --compile Compile the files and exit. -h, --help Show summary of options. --log-concise Do not display log messages that have recently been displayed. --log-file=file Write log output in "file". --log-level=string Output log messages up to a given level, among "error", "warning" and "verbose". --log-uniq Do not display the same log message successively. -u, --update Open and save the animation files. -v, --version Print the version of the editor and exit.
