Since there are Perl libraries that can be installed on a server, you need to make sure that you have all of the Perl libraries for each server that you run the script on. You should also make sure that you are using strict in the script to make sure that you aren't overlooking an error.

invalid getconf output and Perl compile

I was compiling perl on a Solaris 10 server. The compile failed because the output of getconf is wrong (it indicates xarch is generic64 not v9. This is a known bug but I cannot find a fix. The "PPI::Token::Number::Version" class is used for tokens that have multiple decimal points. In truth, these aren't treated like numbers at all by Perl, but they look like numbers to a parser. METHODS
