multiple vi editor

Hi chindu.anu,
I am able to switch to with ":n" and ":rew".
but I not able to save both file. when i did ":wq" only one is saved.
any idea how to save all the files in multiple editor?

I got my answer,
we can achive this by ":w" to save first what we have written before going to another file.
I am able to switch to with ":n" and ":rew".

1) vi editor normally opens in Execution mode . We have to press ESC + i to go to edit mode . But , I wanted the vi to open directly in edit mode . :confused:

I want to grep multiple patterns from multiple files and save to multiple outputs. As of now its outputting all to the same file when I use this command.
Input : 108 files to check for 390 patterns to check for. output I need to 108 files with the searched patterns.

gnome-session-save - saves or terminates the current GNOME session SYNOPSIS
gnome-session-save [--kill] [--gui] [gnome-std-options] DESCRIPTION
gnome-session-save can be used from a GNOME session to save a snapshot of the currently running applications. This session will be restored at your next GNOME startup session. OPTIONS
The following options are supported: --gui Shows a dialog when the session is saved, and reports errors in dialog boxes instead of printing to stderr. --kill Terminates the GNOME session. gnome-std-optionStandard options available for use with most GNOME applications.
