I am writing a script that needs to access various servers some of which are not ssh enabled. In order to access the ssh enabled servers I am using the following command to generate the public key :
ssh-keygen -t rsa
Is there a similar command for the other servers as well.

Just to save time - SCP is not an option as sFTP is stipulated by controllers of far end server.

Hi all,
ssh uname@remote_server 'cat /tmp/remote_file_name > home_dir/a512386/new/local_file_name'
The above given command is working fine.
but if i try to move the file only if exists in the remote server i.e) giving the same within if condition it executes but the file is not stored in my... (1 Reply)

sftp-server - SFTP server subsystem SYNOPSIS
/usr/lib/ssh/sftp-server DESCRIPTION
sftp-server implements the server side of the SSH File Transfer Protocol as defined in the IETF draft-ietf-secsh-filexfer. sftp-server is a subsystem for sshd(1M) and must not be run directly. There are no options or config settings. To enable the sftp-server subsystem for sshd add the following to /etc/ssh/sshd_config: Subsystem sftp /usr/lib/ssh/sftp-server See sshd_config(4) for a description of the format and contents of that file. There is no relationship between the protocol used by sftp-server and the FTP protocol (RFC 959) provided by in.ftpd. EXIT STATUS
