Operating Systems Solaris Help with Booting procedure Post 302465811 by fpmurphy on Sunday 24th of October 2010 12:13:12 PM

Hmm. Don't think so. My understanding w.r.t. SPARC platforms in this area of the boot process is as follows:

- The secondary boot program, /platform/`arch -k`/ufsboot loads the kernel image files.
- The kernel is loaded and run. Kernel banner is displayed.
- The kernel initializes itself and begins loading modules, reading files using ufsboot until it has loaded enough modules to mount the root filesystem itself.
- ufsboot is unmapped and the kernel uses its own drivers.
- The kernel reads /etc/system and the system parameters are set.
