I am trying to run the following script and I am getting an "ambiguous redirect" error. I have checked to make sure that the files are all where I have specified and are read/write as needed. Any ideas?
Note: I have removed the actual path info for privacy sake. I have triple checked to make sure the paths I am actually using are the correct ones.
i have following statement in the script
echo -e "$str_XML_col_name:$str_field_type;" >> $i_DC_Key_$i_Tgt_DC_key_Schema
here $i_DC_Key is DC key and $i_Tgt_DC_key are the variables...............
when i ran the script i am getting error rec_merge.sh: $i_DC_Key_$i_Tgt_DC_key_Schema:... (1 Reply)
Hi,
I'm trying to code a simple script (c-shell) on a Solaris box and I'm getting an "Ambiguous" error. These are the lines that cause the error:
On c-shell:
> set var = ""
> @ var = `ls -l`
`ls -l`: Ambiguous
However if I change the second line to:
> set var = `ls -l`

I came across the command string on https://www.unix.com/shell-programming-scripting/141885-awk-removing-data-before-after-pattern.html which was what I was looking for to be able to remove data before a certain pattern. realpath
REALPATH(3) 1 REALPATH(3)realpath - Returns canonicalized absolute pathnameSYNOPSIS
string realpath (string $path)
DESCRIPTION realpath(3) expands all symbolic links and resolves references to '/./', '/../' and extra '/' characters in the input $path and returns the
canonicalized absolute pathname.
PARAMETERS
o $path
- The path being checked.
Note
Whilst a path must be supplied, the value can be blank or NULL In these cases, the value is interpreted as the current
directory.
RETURN VALUES
Returns the canonicalized absolute pathname on success. The resulting path will have no symbolic link, '/./' or '/../' components.
realpath(3) returns FALSE on failure, e.g. if the file does not exist.
Note
The running script must have executable permissions on all directories in the hierarchy, otherwise realpath(3) will return FALSE.
Note
Because PHP's integer type is signed and many platforms use 32bit integers, some filesystem functions may return unexpected results
for files which are larger than 2GB.
