When changing it from 9 to 8 in the ODM, did you do that by smit/chlv/odmchange? After the change, did you try to do a savebase and then reboot maybe?
Else to make sure I'd backup the VG, recreate the VG/LV and restore it, if no one comes up with a hack, of course.

I have an AIX LPAR that is one half of a Oracle RAC cluster running over a GPFS filesystem.
The OS version in the LPAR was 5300-05-01
I ran an upgrade to 5300-07-05 (Apply only, Commit=NO and preserve old files).
The preview passed with no failures detected.

I have a filesystem that is created on a VG with 12 disks. The FS is striped on these disks. Now I have to add 10 more disks to this volume group to help increase the space of the same FS that is striped. The a chown was done and instead of using ./ a / was used and root ownership files got changed.
I need to change the ownership of the files/directory back - backups are not working and I am concerned a reboot will not be successful.

RAID 5 = STRIPE + Parity mirroring

SYNOPSIS
idevicebackup2 [OPTIONS] CMD [CMDOPTIONS] DIRECTORY
DESCRIPTION
Create or restore backup from the current or specified directory.
OPTIONS
-u, --udid UDID
target specific device by its 40-digit device UDID.
-s, --source UDID
use backup data from device specified by UDID.
-i, --interactive
request passwords interactively on the command line.
-d, --debug
enable communication debugging.
-h, --help
prints usage information.
COMMANDS
backup create backup for the device.
restore
restore last backup to the device.
--system
restore system files, too.
--reboot
reboot the system when done.
--copy
create a copy of backup folder before restoring.
--settings
