the problem for the above which I posted was resolved. Netra T2000 has some known bugs for dvd not getting recognized. Upgraded the firmware to 6.7.0 and it worked.

Cdrom boot problems

Hi Everyone, I have a problem. I'm trying too reinstall sun solaris 8.0 on may Sunfire 280r but solaris 9.0 is all ready installed. cannot find boot device and won't boot off cdrom

I'm running solaris 2.5.1. My main development server is DEAD, i can't even boot off the cdrom, it powers up, acts like it is starting the boot process but then says cannot find boot device. I want to install Solaris 9 on SUN ULTRA 10. The cdrom is attached to an ide controller. Cannot boot from scsi cdrom

I have a server with a scsi raid controller (for hard drives) and a scsi controller (for tape drive and cd-rom). I am trying to boot from the cd-rom but can't. ipwctl [-i] iface ipwctl [-i] iface -r DESCRIPTION
The ipwctl utility controls the operation of Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 networking devices via ipw(4) driver. You should not use this program to configure IEEE 802.11 parameters. Use ifconfig(8) instead. OPTIONS
The options are as follows: -i iface Display adapter's internal statistics. -i iface -r Display the radio switch state (on or off). FILES
