Problem using diff command in unix

Hi, I am trying to do a diff between two files using "diff" command.I dont need my output to be printed using extra symbols ">" and "<" as we usually see for the diff command. uuid_compare - compare whether two UUIDs are the same SYNOPSIS

The uuid_compare function compares the two supplied uuid variables uu1 and uu2 to each other. RETURN VALUE
