If that error was coming from a unix nfs server, it would typically mean that mountd had died and needed to be restarted. I'm not sure if netapp has a way to do the equivalent. Rebooting the netapp should restart it's mountd (or equivalent) for sure.

Hello I am having an issue with a server SUN FIRE T2000 (Solaris 10).

I'm trying to mount a windows share (hosted on a NetApp filer with clustered Ontap 8.3) and I have no luck doing it.
This worked before when we used an old NetApp with Ontap 7.3.
Seems there is an issue with ASCII/non-unicode support.

rwall -- send a message to users logged on a host
SYNOPSIS
rwall host [file]
DESCRIPTION
The rwall command sends a message to the users logged into the specified host. The message to be sent can be typed in and terminated with EOF
or it can be in a file.
DIAGNOSTICS
rwall: RPC: Program not registered
The rpc.rwalld(8) daemon has not been started on the remote host.
rwall: RPC: Timed out
A communication error occurred. Either the network is excessively congested, or the rpc.rwalld(8) daemon has terminated on the
remote host.
rwall: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Timed out
The remote host is not running the portmapper (see portmap(8) ), and cannot accommodate any RPC-based services. The host may be
down.
