Folks;
I've read a lot of material on using LDAP for authentication in Solaris & non of them was clear or have any examples.
Could any one give me a hand on how to setup/configure LDAP to authenticate users when they try to login to Solaris 10 server i have?

I have an issue here with ldap client. It stoped and won't start.
What I have got:
sadm $ tail /var/adm/messages

I have recently installed iplanet directory server on my Solaris 10 machine.I was able to successfully install and configure ldap on my system.Furthermore, was also able to add

I am the new jr admin on a solaris team (2 people). We have over 40 solaris servers (v8 and v9) yet no LDAP to manage it all. Is this unusual?
So, if we need to add a new user, we have to add him 40x.

I have a test environment which is running RedHat 6.5 Identity management. On the lab network are two Solaris 10 (U11) machines. install-solaris - install the Solaris operating system SYNOPSIS
install-solaris install-solaris invokes the Solaris Install program. Depending on graphical capability and available memory at the time of invocation, install-solaris invokes either a text-based installer or a graphical installer. The following minimum requirements for physical memory dictate which features are available during installation: For SPARC machines: 128 MB Minimum physical memory for all installation types 128 MB Minimum physical memory required for windowing system 384 MB Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation For x86 machines: 256 MB Minimum physical memory for all installation types 256 MB Minimum physical memory required for windowing system 512 MB Minimum physical memory required for graphical-based installation In some cases, even if the minimum physical memory is present, available virtual memory after system startup can limit the number of fea- tures available. install-solaris exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should be invoked only from there. Refer to the for more details. install-solaris allows installation of the operating system onto any standalone system. install-solaris loads the software available on the installation media.
