5300-00-00 is a worry, especially as it was never released at that level.
The first official release was at SP01, so it kind of makes me wonder if you have a beta release and updating that could be a whole world of pain.
Is this a production machine?
What does the following show:
# oslevel -f
# oslevel -r
# oslevel -q
# lppchk -vm3
In theory you can just download the TL and SP you want, click something like the "include pre-requsites" box and update from anything to anything else but in your case I wonder what you have to start with and whether this will work!

Hi,
I want to know if there is any command which will tell me if an AIX machine is a LPar or not. I am using "lparstat -i" but it does not work on all AIX machines. Is there any generic command by whose output I will come to know if it is an LPar or not?
Please help.
Thanks,
