excuse my stupidity

I am getting a variable from a web page ($inst) which is looked at by the loop: if ($inst == 2) { do stuff } the problem is that no matter what the value of $inst the code enters the loop. I know it is some thing small and stupid, but any help would be appreciated. john (3 Replies)

The hal-find commands, hal-find-by-capability and hal-find-by-property, search the Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) device list by speci- fied criteria and displays results on the standard output. hal-find-by-capability searches by capability, such as volume or block. hal- find-by-property searches by property, such as block.is_volume or volume.disc.has_audio.
