how do i set up samba 2 connect 2 a windows client ?

if you mean your windiws machine to be a server, then most distributions have smbmount, read manual on it, if you mean windows to be a client, then you should download samba and correctly write smb.conf, that is more difficult.
i dont think i answered well, but anyway it will help you to find what manual to read Smilie
