freebsd logs

hi,

i want to log all ftp actions. i read that if you start the ftpd with ftpd -l, the ftp will log everything to a log file. i tried to change the syslog.conf and added
LOG_FTP /var/log/ftpd
so that he should log everything that has to do with ftp to that log file. but he still logs everything to /var/log/message.log.
what do i have to do?

thx for help

Did you restart syslogd? And does the /var/log/ftpd file already exist?
