Tools 1st post here! directory related question ( // )...

Hello guys!

Your board is very cool (professional and very great-looking!)

I have some experience with unix but there is something im wondering since this morning when working on a box here...

Here is the cut&paste from the terminal..,

ttstest01:~$ cd /

ttstest01:/$ pwd

ttstest01:/$ ls
boot/ dev/ export/ lib@ mnt/
bla bla bla...

ttstest01:/$ cd //

ttstest01://$ pwd

ttstest01://$ ls
boot/ dev/ export/ lib@ mnt/
bla bla bla...

ttstest01://$ cd ///

ttstest01:/$ uname -a
SunOS ttstest01 5.8 Generic_108529-10 i86pc i386 i86pc

What is causing this (the "//" directory) ?

I believe it is just ignoring the rest of the //'s. It does the same on HP-UX.

$ cd ////
$ pwd
$ uname -a
HP-UX myserver B.11.00 A 9000/889

Correct...multiple / is the same as 1 for Sun too.
