Dummieq: How do I delete?
I have a directory that I want to delete. I'm using a new iMac, and is logged in as SuperUser (or what it's called)

I tried to use the rm -r command but it didn't work. The directory contains an empty file.

What error did it gave ? Was the command executed form the right path ?

try using: rm -rf <directory> Smilie

also u may use or add in the option -v (verbose)it allows you to check what is going on and what is being done.

you might wanna make sure you are not currently in the directory that you are trying to delete cause if you are, its never gon work.

so I suggest you transfer to a entirely different directory and then execute the command like this:

rm -r /the_absolute_path_to_the_directory_you_want_to_delete
